Welcome to the JP Method!

My name's Jacopo, but I'm Jack on my Starbucks cup. I live in New York City.

During my eighteen years as an Italian language coach, I worked for many schools public and private with students of all ages and backgrounds. Through failings and more failings--and fairly some successes in between--I learned what works and what doesn't. Then one day I realized that my way of teaching languages was very different from that of other teachers and schools. I work on practical scenarios, realistic sample sentences, and effective structures for everyday communications. Sure, I do grammar, but it's applied grammar. Who wants to spend countless hours on grammar books filling in blanks? Then when the time comes they should order coffee in an Italian cafe, they can hardly say "buongiorno". And yet, many students find themselves trapped in this frustrating loop. If you want to know how to say it, you need to say it. There's no way around that.

So I opened my company and started to work with my own students, finally being able to teach my way.

That's when it dawned on me that without being aware of it, I was actually teaching a method. And here we are: The JP Method.

I am currently systematizing my language knowledge and experience into a practice book which will soon be made available to the public. Until then, I'll share tips, advice, and exercises with you right here and offer my two cents on cultural facts and more. So stick around. You won't regret it!
