Welcome to the JP Method!

My name's Jacopo Paoloni. I'm based in New York City.

I have a M.A. in Literature with an extra special focus on Linguistics. My university career includes extensive studies in Literary Theory, Philosophy (with a main interest in logic, Scholastic, dialectic, and epistemiology), Semiotics, and History. After university, I spent the next twenty years of my life trying to refine my knowledge of all the above while at the same time teaching languages.

During my eighteen years as an Italian language coach, I worked for many schools public and private with students of all ages and backgrounds. Through failings and more failings--and fairly some successes in between--I learned what works and what doesn't. So I took what works and brought it together into a coherent and practical system. I called it The JP Method.

My method is designed to help learners achieve the highest level of fluency they can possibly aim for. There's no grammar (except for few essentials), no pen and paper, no wasting years or decades on useless exercises.

There are five staples to my method.

1) Everything aloud.

2) Repetition.

3) Memorization.

4) High-intensity sessions.

5) Application.

The only way to learn a language, is to speak it from the beginning and with the right method.

You tried for years what doesn't work. You might as well try what works instead.

I am currently systematizing my language knowledge and experience into a practice book which will soon be made available to the public. Until then, I'll share tips, advice, and exercises with you right here and offer my two cents on cultural facts and more.
